The Championship
The Rotax Racing Club Cadet Championship will be an “arrive & drive” championship designed for drivers aged 7-12 years. We will be introducing Cadet Testing in 2026 with a view to launching a Cadet Championship in 2027.
The Cadet Championship will be a statewide “arrive & drive” high-performance kart racing series for young drivers looking to step into karting without having to purchase their own kart. Formula KFX provides not only the karts, but also the fuel and tires, which means that everything is prepared and race-ready for the driver upon their arrival.
The Cadet Championship will also visit 8 of California’s premiere kart tracks and will share its race dates with the Junior and Senior Championships.
With the added incentive of competing in equally prepared high-performance Birel ART N32 karts, powered by ROTAX, the Cadet Championship promises to deliver exciting on-track action on a variety of circuits throughout the season.
The Rotax Racing Club Cadet Championship aims to attract drivers across a wide range of skills and abilities, looking to enjoy excellent close racing on a strict budget.

Weight Categories
Super-Lightweight
Min racing weight: 40kg (88lb)*
*Drivers will add ballast to the kart to achieve the minimum racing weight.
Lightweight
Minimum Racing Weight: 50kg (110lb)*
*Drivers MUST weigh a minimum of 43kg (95lb) to be eligible to race in this category.
Format
The proposed 2027 championship will run from February to November.
The race meetings take on the format of –

Important Information
All Cadets, regardless of weight category, must weigh a minimum of 27 kg (60lb) (inclusive of racewear), plus be a minimum height of 125cm (4ft 1in).
Drivers must provide their own racewear.
