Formula KFX Introduces Arrive-and-Drive Endurance Championship for Junior and Senior Teams
MARINA, Calif. — Formula KFX will debut a four-round Endurance Championship Series in 2026, bringing arrive-and-drive team racing to venues across California and Nevada.
Designed to emphasize strategy, consistency and teamwork, the new championship features teams of 2 to 4 drivers, competing in long-format endurance races where execution matters as much as outright speed.
“This series is about giving drivers a true endurance racing experience without the cost and complexity that usually comes with it,” said Philip Pegler, president and CEO of Formula KFX. “You show up with your team and your gear, and we take care of the rest.”
The series opens Feb. 15 at Sonoma Raceway Karting Center before moving to Buttonwillow Raceway Park on April 26. Round 3 takes the championship to Northern Nevada Kart Club in Reno on June 28, with the finale scheduled for Aug. 16 at SMKA in Santa Maria.
2026 Formula KFX Endurance Championship Schedule
Round 1: Feb. 15 – Sonoma Raceway Karting Center (Sonoma, CA)
Round 2: April 26 – Buttonwillow Raceway Park (Buttonwillow, CA)
Round 3: June 28 – Northern Nevada Kart Club (Reno, NV)
Round 4: Aug. 16 – Santa Maria Karting Association (Santa Maria, CA)
Teams will compete in one of two divisions: Formula KFX Junior (ages 13-18) or Formula KFX Senior (ages 16 and up). Each team consists of three drivers, reinforcing the endurance format’s emphasis on shared responsibility and race management.
Staying true to its arrive-and-drive model, Formula KFX will supply all karts, tires and fuel as part of the $695 entry fee (per round), eliminating the need for teams to own or maintain equipment.
Drivers are required to bring their own helmet, racing suit, gloves and shoes. A neck brace is mandatory for all drivers under 18, and rib protectors are strongly recommended.
“Of all the arrive and drive series I’ve ever been in, all the karts I’ve ever driven, Formula KFX is by far the most even field of karts that I’ve ever dealt with,” said Jerott King, the 2025 Senior Heavyweight Champion of the Rotax Racing Club California Championship Series. “It’s unheard of to find a series that has as even karts as we have been driving. You don’t find it. Every other series, the delta between the fastest kart and the slowest kart is two seconds. The delta between the fastest kart here and the slowest kart here is marginal. You can’t even measure it.”
Registration for the 2026 Formula KFX Endurance Championship is now open. Team captains can reserve their junior team or senior team spot now and add their team member’s names at a later date.
